What may have changed since your fight 20 years ago is that 20 years ago the public wasn&#039;t as indoctrinated to look at nutrition as a determinant of health.  20 years ago too no politician in his right mind would have waded into a scrum dealing with nutrition and yet yesterday, Yves Bolduc came out and stated that in fact they would be looking at changing hospital food policies (http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20080730/CPACTUALITES/80730186/6730/CPACTUALITES).

All I&#039;m saying is that it&#039;s a different time today and hopefully a time where some change can in fact be affected.

That said, I agree with you wholeheartedly that hospitals have become commercialized and exist purely to treat disease rather than promote prevention.  Therefore the way to truly affect change in hospital is to prove that it&#039;ll be good for business.  Pop me off an email and I&#039;ll send you a presentation from CapitalHealth out in Alberta who have managed to churn out big profits by revamping their cafeterias and selling healthier foods.
